SNMP module for unified IP managing of multi-chassis configurations
SNMP-TriChain is an advanced version of the SNMP and SNMP Plus controllers. Allows chaining of up to 32 chassis SAE (MiniSAE 3/4/5UAs and MetroSAE) from a single Ethernet port connected to the management router.
Additionally, the SNMP-TriChain controller allows a single IP address to control up to 32x12 adapter cards or optical media converter. This will reduce the overall OPEX while being able to manage up to 384 cards with a single port management and a single IP address.
Compared to the first generation of SNMP drivers, SNMP-TriChain integrates an improved communications processor with increased RAM and FLASH memmory. This reduces startup time and the availability of the management of the chassis to give service.
SNMP-triChain Management supports the SNMP 2c (SNMP 3.x under option) and its operating system is upgradable remote TRI.OS.
Gigabit SFP ports Version
SNMPTri-Chain controller is also available with Gigabit Ethernet SFP dual-port. With this configuration, replacing the two ports 10/100 RJ-45 by SFP insertable modules, it is possible chaining in locations where the chassis (or the port management) are separated more than 100m (maximum range supported by the cable category 5) using an optical fiber link (up to 180km).
Hot insertion
SNMP-TriChain can be hot-replaced without affecting the traffic in the converters/adapters inserted in the optical chassis.

In this example the operator's node has a multichasis configuration, or cluster, where 3 MiniSAE are present. These three chassis, along with the corresponding circuits and equipment on which they depend, are under unified management with a single IP address.
