DPC Replication
Availability of the service and backup of information. Both capabilities guarantee the day-to-day existence and solvency of thousands of companies and institutions worldwide. For this reason, all of the actions aimed at duplicating Data Process Centers are strategic decisions that affect executive management, technical departments, and business processes equally.
TELNET has a complete solution for the interconnection of any service present in a Data Center over optical fiber, from telephone switchboards to storage systems, and of course any Local Network technology.
TELNET’s solution is based on CWDM or DWDM technology. Both optical multiplexing techniques allow the integration of different services – each one carried on a different wavelength on a single optical fiber.
To carry out a DPC replication project, a MetroSAE has to be installed in each Center, and then equipped with the optical adapter modules responsible for situating each service on a wavelength. The MetroSAE will also be equipped with the corresponding CWDM or DWDM optical multiplexer, depending on the project’s needs.
The figure above shows a diagram in which two DPCs are interconnected at a distance of 120Km through MetroSAE chassis and AnySAE optical adaptation modules. In addition to reducing the cost, the AnySAE’s multi-service characteristics make the solution simpler to manage and maintain. Each one of these modules offers four independent interfaces, allowing the simultaneous transportation of four information channels over a single wavelength. Each of the AnySAE interfaces can work with ESCON, FICON, GigabitEthernet, or Fiberchannel services.
Lastly, a solution like the one described in the previous diagram can be strengthened to satisfy the most demanding levels of security. In this sense, an optical switch can be included in the MetroSAE to duplicate fiber-optic routes. It is also possible to establish a configuration with a dual chassis in each DPC.
