Benefits of the Solution

  • Maintains client 802.1Q information facilitating extension through the operator’s WAN
  • The operator’s network falls outside the labeling systems used by its clients
  • Establishment of a demarcation point between the user network and the MPLS/IP services network
  • Facilitates operation and management of the service offered by the operator
    • Bandwidth configuration
    • Identification of the source of problems
    • Loop establishment
    • Automated configuration download
  • In-band management. Access does not have to be enabled in the client premises to manage the equipment.

Fast Ethernet Services and VLAN aggregation

The propagation of VLAN networks is one of the essential elements in providing advanced LAN services. This is why operators need to preserve the information regarding 802.1Q labeling of each one of its clients.

As shown in the previous diagram,  TELNET’s access equipment makes it simple to encapsulate the traffic from one or more VLANs on the client network on a transport VLAN. This way, clients can extend their virtual networks over an IP/MPLS network without affecting the existing labeling model on the operator’s services network.

TELNET Redes Inteligentes, has a wide range of solutions aimed at the termination of IP/MPLS networks. These make it possible to work over the telephone pair or optical fiber, with speeds ranging from symmetrical 2Mbps up to Gigabit.

  • CM 100-IB. This module has two interfaces – one towards the user and the other towards the network. The user side has an RJ-45 Fast Ethernet interface, while the connection towards the network allows one of the following options: LX, LX40 and single fiber.
  • CM 1000-IB. Gigabit services over single-mode fiber and distances between 15 and 80 km.
  • SH 104-IB. This module is based on SHDSL standards and the conventional telephone loop and offers users symmetrical access at speeds of 2Mbps (1 pair) and 4Mbps (2 pairs).
  • VC 500-IB. This is aimed at applications over the telephone loop where bandwidth must be maximized. The VC 500-IB uses VDSL technology to offer up to 70 Mbps downstream and 30 Mbps upstream.

The aforementioned modules can be installed on MicroSAE (1 slot), TriSAE (3 slots), and MiniSAE (12 slots) chassis.
